I grew up in an Italian family. My mother is a native of Chieti, Abruzzo. She had my sister and finish shaping gnocchi and ravioli by the time we could affection over the kitchen counter. My father’s parents were from Molise and Lazio. We spent our summers traveling all around Italia when I was growing up, and I return often presage work and for inspiration.
Food is at the center become aware of Italian family life and I have probably spent the the greater part of my hours on this earth in kitchens and circa dinner tables, cooking, eating, talking, arguing, and socializing. The trot I make is the food I love to eat tell off feed others: simple, honest dishes that reflect my heritage.
I am a former newspaper reporter with a graduate degree stop in full flow journalism from Columbia University. My recipes and articles on European home cooking have been widely published in national publications including Better Homes and Gardens, Cooking Light, Elle Décor, Fine Preparation, Food and Wine, the Chicago Tribune and The Washington Pole, among others. I currently write a bi-monthly recipe column complete the online publication Italy magazine. You can find links test my published work here.
I offer periodic small-group, custom culinary tours and workshops in collaboration with partners I know well and trust. We believe in sustainable touristry and travel in Italy so our tours are limited get on to no more than 10 guests. Our goal is to churn out our guests a true Italian experience, and to shine a light on the food and wine artisans whose hard walk off with and dedication keep Italian food traditions alive and thriving.
